Collaborative Art

LI:  To use different types of warm and cool colours to recreate a world-known painting from Van Gogh.

This week’s art is about Van Gogh and his famous art piece “The Starry Night”. The Class was divided into 2 groups of 16 people, 1 of each group remade “The Starry Night” in warm colours and cool colours digitally. Each group divided 16 pieces of the Starry Night with each person in the group. Working as a collaborative team we gathered all or pieces to 1 DLO to finally reach our desired outcome.

I found this activity interesting to do we got to be working collabrativly also using similar shades and colours because our group worked together to get this piece together .

Worm Tunnel Art

LI: To make use of the whole space, to shade and blend colours to use complementary colours

In this activity we learn to make use of the whole space on the paper and to blend and shade using complementary colours. Complementary colours are colours that that are opposite one another on the colour wheel and when used next to each other stand out.

We found this activity fun and interesting because this helped me with my skills to shade blend and many more.

Silhouette Bird Art

LI: To learn how to use tone, blending and different brush strokes with paint.

We have been learning how to corporate tones, blending and brush strokes with our art using paint. We chose a bird that is endemic to New Zealand and researched five facts about them. We chose birds because the New Zealand bird of the year award is going to be announced soon on the 31st of October. We looked through different videos that taught us about the technique used in order to get a nice background.

I found this activity challenging because it was hard to blend colours together but I had a lot of fun and I learnt new art skills.

Bee Art

I found it quite hard to  decorate because all the materils have differnt sizes and also to find what I needed .

Bees are vital to our survival because they polinate food for us and without bees we will have no food.

I enjoyed it because we are sharing ideas with each other and using our own imagenation.

Kandinsky Art

LI:to use colours that relate to your emotions from the music

For the past couple of weeks LS2 has been investigating mood and atmosphere. We started by reading a variety of ANZAC poems, and highlighting how each sentence made us feel. Afterwards we answered different questions about how we felt during the poems.

Our next step was to listen to a montage of music, and use colors to represent how we felt listening to each song. The circles had to be concentric, meaning they started in the middle of our page, and progressed outwards. This art was based of a russian artist by the name of Wassily Kandinsky. He would normally listen to opera music and paint how he feels.
